Adult Program
Adult Program
Friendship Circle of Michigan is a non-profit organization affiliated with Lubavitch of Michigan. Our goal is to provide every individual with special needs the support friendship and inclusion that they deserve.
Soul Social
14+
Building relationships as a young adult can be challenging for any individual. For individuals with special needs, attending social events can be overwhelming. Luckily, Soul Social is a great option for individuals looking for a fun, socially appropriate and meaningful evening. The activities planned will include informal conversation groups, art, music, improv, drum circles, films, mindfulness and games. Soul Social takes place at Soul Studio, giving participants a chance to experience the mature, adult atmosphere of Farber Center.
The group is designed for participants who can safely attend and engage without a one-on-one volunteer.
Trainee Program for individuals with special needs
The Dakota Bread Trainee Program provides individuals with special needs the opportunity to work in an active bakery environment. Trainees are hired by the bakery as paid employees and receive on-the-job coaching and vocational training. Trainees learn from the staff with support from a job coach as needed. While on the job they develop and build strategies that allow them to be successful in the workplace, including social skills, work-related anxiety, planning and organizational skills, and functional job skills. Trainees that graduate from the program will be able to transfer their skills to a variety of workplaces to become successful employees.
Our passion for community, friendship and great food keeps our quality high and our customers coming back. So if you’re looking for great bread, “the best in Detroit,” some are saying— stop by Dakota Bread. And while you’re there, discover the rest of our great menu. The same care and quality run through it all.
