Pure Friendship for Individuals with Special Needs

Gary & Susan August

Dear Bassie and Levi,

Friendship Circle entered our lives when our children began volunteering with the Friends at Home program. Imagine our surprise when our teenage sons vied to be the one who got to meet with their buddy on a Sunday morning!

Our first meeting with Bassie was when she proposed launching a new program called Shabbat at the Spa. We were honored to sponsor the program and begin our own relationship with Friendship Circle. Shabbat at the Spa is a respite program to support and foster connection among moms of children with special needs. In the course of our work together, we learned about Friendship Circle’s history, mission, and the essential role the organization fulfills in our community.

Throughout the years, we have participated in the development of the Soul Center, Soul Cafe, and lots of other exciting Friendship Circle initiatives. We have come to understand why our sons were so eager to volunteer — it is a privilege to be a part of this miraculous organization.

Friendship Circle plays a vital role in our community and the lives of program participants and volunteers alike. Our gift is an investment in Friendship Circle’s future so that the organization may continue to grow, strengthen and fulfill its mission to serve our entire community.

Sincerely,

Susan and Gary August
