Friendship Circle 
The Friendship Circle is competing in the Ford Focus Test Drive contest on Facebook. Our challenge was to create a video that best describes how we would use a possible $10,000 grant.
You may have heard “Defeat The Label” whispered around the halls of Friendship Circle recently. This is a brand new campaign aimed at bringing awareness and real-time action against bullying. If Friendship Circle is chosen for the $10k grant from Ford, we will launch an in-school curriculum composed of 10 “Defeat The Label” sessions.
Deena Martin, a former FC volunteer, graciously shared her story with our camera for the Ford video submission. As a child, she was diagnosed with brain damage and social disorders. She faced bullying in middle school and high school on a near daily basis. However, after nine years at The Friendship Circle and the support of close family and friends, Deena is now a vibrant, confidant 3.3 GPA student, enrolled in a Michigan university.

We just recently learned of this contest and only have one day to entice the judges with our amount of “Loves.” Share this link with your friends and family and help The Friendship Circle inspire the youth to shift their focus from bullying to friendship.
