Autism & Basketball: Jason McElwain Five Years Later [VIDEO]
Five Years ago on February 15th, 2006 Jason McElwain was a little known teenager. At an early age Jason was diagnosed with autism. As he grew up his brother Josh introduced him to basketball and eventually he ended up as the manager of his high school basketball team, Greece Athena High School near Rochester, New York. As the team manager Jason did not expect to play but his coach Jim Johnson had other ideas. With Greece Athena winning by a comfortable margin. Coach Johnson inserted him into the lineup with four minutes left. What happened next is incredible. McElwain scored 20 points in four minutes tying a school record. It was amazing that he got a chance to play and completely unexpected when he scored those points (watch the video of J-Mac's incredible night ).
Five years later Jason is as active as ever. Here are a couple of videos that show what he has been up to since.
