As soon as the springtime flowers start lifting their buds above the dirt, you will begin to hear the word “Walk4Friendship” chirped around the halls of The Friendship Circle.
Walk4Friendship is our annual 5k walk and fundraiser. This event raises over 1/3 of our annual operating budget. But it really is more than a fundraiser…
Walk4Friendship is our community’s chance to stand united and strong in advocacy and support of all individuals with special needs. Being surrounded by such passion can be life changing. We literally “paint the town purple” with over 5,000 people proudly wearing our purple logo and walking together with their family and friends.
Last year’s Walk4Friendship drew 5,000 walkers, 41 corporate sponsors and raised $470,000 for The Friendship Circle. The fact that Walk4Friendship has been able to grow year after year during these difficult economic times shows the pride and spirit of our community members.
This year, Walk4Friendship will take place on Sunday, September 4th from 12:30-4:00pm. If you haven’t already, make sure to visit our redesigned walk websiteto get involved!
