Rain, 45 Degree Temperatures and 20 MPH winds didn’t stop Friendship Circle from splashing down at Cedar Point yesterday. 45 children with special needs together with 45 teen volunteers and 15 chaperones made the two and a half hour trip to Sandusky, Ohio for Friendship Circle’s annual Cedar Point trip.
An informal survey showed that on average, the 5-6 ice cream stands stationed around the park usually make about 1,100-1,300 sales a day. Yesterday they were hovering somewhere around 100. Brrr….
While the weather caused us to bundle up it didn’t stop the fun. From the carousel to the big roller coasters everyone had a wonderful time (especially since there were no lines).
As the bus started to pull out of the park the bus grew strangely quiet. I turned around to check what was going on and as you can see in the collage below everyone was sound asleep.
Here is one quick note we received from a parent about her son’s experience:"I just wanted you all to know that The Friendship Circle never ceases to amaze me!! Corycame home today the happiest he has been in about 4 months. Thank you so much for always making his time with The FC unbelievable. Today happened to be the rainiest, windiest, downright ugliest day and The FC was able to make it a spectacular one forCory. We feel very lucky to have such a wonderful place forCoryto be part of. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making today such a great day".Check out the pictures below for our Cedar Point Experience!
