Thursday Morning Jewelry Open Studio with Taylor 3B (October 30-December 22)

In Jewelry Making Open Studio, you will work on your own project with the support of a Facilitating Artist. In the beginning of the session, you will create a project plan that will guide your work toward a final project. It is recommended that you have some background in jewelry making so that you can work semi-independently on your project. Through your individual project, you may learn new skills and build on existing skills.

Please prepare some ideas ahead of time so that you and your facilitating artist can create a project plan on the first day of programming! Even just a simple photo of an idea works! You could also make a Pinterest board of ideas!

"SewAbility" offers an inclusive and adaptive learning experience for adults with special needs, facilitated by skilled instructors specializing in diverse abilities. Whether participants are beginners or have some sewing experience, our workshop ensures tailored learning, with a range of adaptive tools and materials, including easy-grip scissors and specially designed sewing machines. Beyond sewing techniques, "SewAbility" emphasizes creative exploration, encouraging individuals to express their unique creativity through personalized projects. The workshop fosters social connections, providing a supportive community where participants can share stories and build friendships. As participants gain sewing skills and complete projects, "SewAbility" focuses on empowerment, boosting self-confidence, and enabling individuals with special needs to express themselves through the art of sewing.

Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using hands, fingers, and simple tools. The most common handbuilding techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building.

Trial Group 4 (Sept-Dec) 12/11 & 12/18

The Studio Discovery is for adults interested in the Soul Studio Art Program. The purpose of the trial period is for you (the interested participant) and the Soul Studio staff to get to know each other. The Studio Discovery will be during the regular Soul Studio programming, so will also get to experience what it is like to be a Soul Studio artist! During the Discovery, you will be introduced to different art mediums in workshops led by a Facilitating Artist staff. After Studio Discovery, we will discuss if Soul Studio is a good fit, what a regular schedule will look like, and if there are any additional supports needed.


*We may ask that the participant complete an additional two weeks of the Studio Discovery if we feel that it would be beneficial.
