Friendship Circle of Michigan is a non-profit organization affiliated with Lubavitch of Michigan. Our goal is to provide every individual with special needs the support, friendship, and inclusion that they deserve.

Friendship Circle provides assistance and support to 3,000 individuals with special needs and their families by providing recreational, social, educational, and vocational programming. In addition to helping those in need, the Friendship Circle enriches its vast network of volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving. Friendship Circle also provides support to individuals and families struggling with isolation, addiction and other family-related crises.
Our Programs:
The Friendship Circle has over 40 unique programs that provide children and adults a space to grow, create, learn and connect with each other and with our volunteers. We make sure to work individually with families to understand the individual's specific needs and create the best environment for them to thrive in.

LESSONS FOR LIFE
Ferber Kaufman LifeTown
Centered in the heart of LifeTown is Weinberg Village, a 5,000 square-foot, true-to-life cityscape where our groundbreaking program, Lessons for Life, serves students with disabilities from over 200 schools in more than 50 school districts. Lessons for Life fills the gap between classroom learning and real world experiences by teaching life skills and giving the opportunity to confidently assume responsibility and independence in the outside world. FOOD WITH PURPOSE
The Soul Café
The Soul Café provides a mouthwatering kosher menu featuring gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and more in a warm and relaxed environment. The café is part of Friendship Circle’s Soul Projects, which focuses on providing vocational opportunities to adults with special needs. The café teaches adults with special needs the skills of food prep, cooking, hosting and serving.

Through educational programming driven by each artist’s creative impulses, participants are supported in a variety of art media including: painting, drawing, ceramics, weaving, sculpture, woodworking, photography, and digital arts and are inspired to develop careers as contemporary artists.

FOOD WITH PURPOSE
Dakota Bread Company
The Dakota Bread Company provides award winning fresh baked bread, cookies, muffins, pastries, sweet trays, gift baskets, beverages and more. Its training program for adults with special needs and trainees gain hands-on experience working in all areas of the bakery while also learning essential life skills like time management, organization, and customer service.
