In Jewelry Making Open Studio, you will work on your own project with the support of a Facilitating Artist. In the beginning of the session, you will create a project plan that will guide your work toward a final project. It is recommended that you have some background in jewelry making so that you can work semi-independently on your project. Through your individual project, you may learn new skills and build on existing skills.

Please prepare some ideas ahead of time so that you and your facilitating artist can create a project plan on the first day of programming! Even just a simple photo of an idea works! You could also make a Pinterest board of ideas!

All studio workshops have a ratio of 1 staff member to 6 artists.

Color seems like the simplest and most straightforward element in art, but there is so much more than meets the eye. How do you mix and create new colors, and why do artists use the colors that they do? What are complementary and analogous colors, and how do you create a beautiful color palette with them? You will learn all of this and so much more when you explore color theory in this workshop.

Before there was photography and technology, people relied on artists to show them nature and the outside world of distant places. It was how people would fall in love with the outdoors, how artists could capture not only the details, but the feeling of the landscape. In this workshop, we will be focusing on art solely from nature, from flora to fauna, from drawing or painting small leaves to taking our easels outside to create what’s all around us. Join in to fall in love with the nature of art, and the art of nature.
