Basics and Beyond

A foundational life skills program for adults who benefit from a slower pace and higher support.

Basics and Beyond is designed for adults with higher support needs who thrive with a flexible schedule, consistent routines, and a low staff-to-participant ratio (1:3). The program supports goals like:

  • Eating safely and at a comfortable pace
  • Completing hygiene steps (like washing hands)
  • Following step by step  directions and basic safety rules (like traffic rules)
  • Participating in group activities

Participants take frequent movement and sensory breaks, and we use visual tools and supports to encourage independence in daily routines—both in the program and at home.

We also focus on communication and social interaction, like:

  • Responding to questions
  • Identifying likes and dislikes
  • Practicing greetings and taking turns

This group offers a supportive environment where adults can build confidence, develop self-help skills, and grow at their own pace.
